What Customers Say About Saitek Eclipse II Keyboard (PK02AU):

I don't use it for gaming but so far (1 month) the performance has been impressive. I like the adjustment for light intemsity. Amazon delivered it quickly and efficiently.

I loved everything about this keyboard except for one problem. The third Saitek did what the first two did, I have used it for only about a week now, and the "E" is already half gone, and the S, A, O, and N are showing noticeable wear. I figured the store must have received a defective shipment.

The Saitek II began to deteriorate within a week of usage. I got out the keyboard that came with my Mac to use in the meantime--great keyboard, but the keys are a little harder for older eyes to see, because the lettering is smaller, and there's less contrast. I am a heavy internet user, and normally I can get about a year out of a keyboard before the keys begin to show heavy wear.

So this time I returned it directly to the manufacturer, thinking I could get around the issue that way. I couldn't believe it. I had bought it at Best Buy, and they kindly replaced it with another, and IT wore out within a couple of weeks as well.

I used the mac keyboard till I wore the paint off several keys, which took about a year--and then I hooked up the second replacement Saitek. I would happily use a Saitek Eclipse II for the rest of my life if not for this issue, but who can afford to replace a keyboard weekly.Apparently they got everything right but the paint.

Been keyboarding for 35 year or so and always had the best of best when it comes to keyboards. Felt like I was reaching for the stars to get my mouse and the keys are spread out too much. In a word this keyboard is just AWESOME for day or night, home or work, etc. They were just too much on the tactile response and it was beginning to fatigue my joints. NOTE: Some will prefer the mushy Eclipse III more for it less force to hit the keys however it will dramatically increase you errors if you are a super-fast typist like me. So, I tried the Eclipse III. Have to give up my "Classic Option 101 Keyboard" by IBM - both of them a work and home. This keyboard had a well-built feel to it, the keystrokes provided ample tactile feedback to fingertips, the keys are big and nice yet compact but still spaced well, it's the classic 101 layout for the most part, there is a small knob to adjust the lighting and you can still use you own wrist support or theirs.

BIG MISTAKE. Its keystrokes are very mushy and it was way too WIDE. I'm buying another for work. You cannot go wrong with this keyboard for the price.

I purchased this for my husband as a birthday present since our other keyboard was getting well aged. I am pleased with the purchase and so is he. He likes the light up feature and the spring in the keys. He also like stability when he uses is for his PC games such as COD Modern Warfare 2.

The illumination has the practical benefit of making everything very easy to see in low light. I often type while on the phone, and so would prefer a keyboard that can't be heard by whomever I'm speaking with. I bought this keyboard to replace the one that came with my HP desktop computer, which, while functional, was kind of noisy and also ugly. (I prefer the purple and blue lights, depending upon my mood, but haven't really used the red).Reviews said this keyboard was quiter than most. I'm a web designer and am on the computer all day, so it's important to me to have a good solid keyboard, not too huge, that looks good, and, most importantly, functions really well. Since I'm often typing late at night when the lighting in my office isn't all that great, that's appreciated. It makes much more sound than a laptop keyboard, for instance.

So, it isn't as quiet as I would have wished but that isn't a dealbreaker. I'm very pleased with it. While I haven't asked anyone, I think people probably can hear it. And, of course it's kind of cool looking. Well, yeah, it probably is somewhat, but I wouldn't exactly call it quiet. This is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5.Plugs in and works immediately, with no drivers to install. This fits the bill.I really have been enjoying the Saitek Eclipse II keyboard and think you probably will, too.
